College Xmas Present Exchange Games
Many public colleges don't permit present
exchanges in the Xmas
season, but some do and actually many non-public
colleges do. Many fun games can be made to make the present
exchange truly fun and festive for youngsters. There are
many activities you can impose to make the present
purchasing fascinating. For instance, you can declare that
one of the guidelines of the present exchange is that gifts
must be hand-crafted or put together in some way and not
acquired.
You can take this a step farther by claiming
that the gifts feature the college's colours in spades.
Maybe they would also somehow incorporate the college's
mascot. Definitely in a gift
exchange with kids, there should be a low buck limit on the
gifts ( such at $5 ). But once the gifts are prepared, there
are several fun exchange activities and games that may be
used to make this even fun and remarkable for the
youngsters.
You may use a "white elephant" present exchange
technique ; here the children draw a number and select their
present from the pile of gifts in order by the number they
drew. They can exchange their gift for a different one if they
select. A present can only be "stolen" 3 times and the person
that drew the 1st present can "steal" a present at the end of
the present exchange if they like. Youngsters always get a kick
out of the "stealing" side of the white elephant present
exchange.
Kids enjoy purchasing gifts for others, so having them draw
names is a fantastic activity for a present exchange. To add a
twist, make the present activity fascinating by telling the
kids they will not tell their recipient they are purchasing for
them. Then make a fun activity in the exchange itself to play
up the "mystery" part of the present exchange. In the mystery
eventuality, you may have each kid open their present, then try
to work out who it is from.
If the kids were asked to make a present, this may be
especially fun, as some youngsters could have drawing
abilities, or woodworking abilities which might make it simpler
or tougher for the other youngsters to choose who have them a
present. As the youngsters open the gifts, have them guess who
the present is from. If they are incorrect, they should do a
little dance or stupid physical act before making another
guess.
This repeats till they guess the right giver of the present
they've been given. Another fun activity for present giving
among youngsters in a study room is to have each kid make a
game piece for an unknown game board. Everybody brings a hand
made game piece ( there may be rules as to its size, as an
example, no bigger than two inches high ), to play with on the
communal game board. The "game board" can be nothing less than
a massive rug that has been fashioned into some variety of
game, ideally a Christmas-themed game.
Always well-liked is "get Santa back to the North Pole"
played much like Chutes and Ladders or Candyland. Since most
kids know the way to play these games, the learning curve is
tiny and at the Xmas party, they can get to playing straight
away. To keep with the gift exchange idea, each kid can get
asked to bring their hand made game piece wrapped and the
pieces can be exchanged as gifts before everybody plays on the
giant game board.
